We are delighted to announce that having secured another prestigious renovation we have delivered 30 of our traditional cast iron radiators to Dollerie House in Perthshire.

Bed knobs but no broomsticks! Scottish estate complete with a crooked bridge designed to keep out WITCHES is sold for the first time in nearly 500 years.

Dollerie House, has belonged to the Murray family since they took ownership of its grounds in the mid 16th century.
It has been sold for the first time in 500 years to a private buyer after spending two years on the market.

Among its unique features is a crooked bridge designed to ward off witches and evil spirits and a plaque dating back to the mid 1700s.

Attracting more than half a million visitors every year, London’s Tower Bridge is one of the UK’s most iconic landmarks and arguably one of the world’s most famous bridges.

So, imagine how we felt after learning we’d secured an order to supply the bridge with some of our traditional column radiators.

It’s fair to say we were rather happy and immensely proud to have received such a prestigious order, with confirmation following several months of discussions with a London engineering consultancy company.

Traditionals Director, Mike Fenwick, says he is looking forward to seeing the radiators installed and added: “We are regularly chosen as the preferred supplier for many noteworthy restorations and new build projects – the Tower Bridge order is another demonstration of our ability to deliver bespoke solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

“We are able to supply our customers with any radiator, style, size, configuration and finish for all applications and budgets. And more recently we’re specifying radiators to the bigger well known merchants because in doing so our bespoke product and professional service is helping them secure more business.”

A beautiful Georgian Inn in the North Wales town of Conwy can now add neo-classical warmth to its list of stunning features.
Radiators from our Traditional collection have been delivered and installed at The Erskine Arms, a coaching inn thought to have been built in the 1830s or 1840s.
The Erskine – where author Charlotte Bronte once stayed on her wedding tour en-route to Ireland – is a stone’s throw from King Edward I’s imposing medieval fortress, Conwy Castle and is renowned for its fresh local food and great local ales.
Our radiators now stand proudly in The Erskine’s cosy guest bedrooms, adding a stylish touch as well as welcome warmth in time for winter.

Scotlands most expensive estate was sold last year. Part of the estate sits Kinpurnie Castle. A magnificent Category ‘B’ Listed mansion house in the Scots baronial style, dating back to 1907 positioned in the county of Angus.
We are proud to have been selected as the prefered supplier of approximately 100 traditional cast iron radiators. Helping the new owners to choose the right style of radiator, colour, valves & accessories.

We recently supplied more than 50 Edwardian cast iron radiators and four cast iron baths for one of the best country houses in the area.
Sockburn Hall comes complete with a ruined Saxon church and a wonderful legend about a dragon being slain nearby. The hall, positioned in a secluded loop of the River Tees near Neasham, was built in 1834 on the site of a medieval manor house which was once reputedly the home of Sir John Conyers, the knight who killed the Sockburn Worm.
The Grade II* listed hall has been in poor repair for decades, although in recent years volunteers have cleared the overgrown grounds and English Heritage has provided a grant to make the roof watertight.
We were delighted the new owner chose to use our services, rather than a conventional merchant – in doing so he saved many thousands of pounds.

We are extremely proud to announce that we have secured another prestigious contract to supply more than 30 of our cast iron radiators to Upsall Hall near Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough.

The manor house was built for the family of ironmaster John George Swan in c.1873.The hall came into the ownership of the local authority in the 1960s and was used as a day centre for people with learning disabilities up until 2013.

After purchasing the property in August 2017, the new owner plans to return it to a family home and with his permission we have taken a few photos showing the work in progress. We cannot wait to return and see the end result with our radiators taking pride of place.

Traditionals are proud to be the preferred supplier of cast iron radiators to The Ramside Hotel in Durham. The Hotel is currently being transformed into one of the largest Hotel & Golf leisure facilities in the North Of England. Our Parisian radiators painted in the antique bronze finish are positioned in the lounge area of the Hotel reception.

“Traditionals have provided a superb service and nothing has proved too much trouble for them even with additional demands placed on them from us for extra parts. Excellent service all round and the rads look superb and are great quality. Second time we’ve used them and have purchased 10 cast iron rads altogether and very pleased with all of them. No hesitation about using them again or recommending them to anyone.”

It was an absolute pleasure to be dealing with Traditionals. The radiators are of excellent quality and aesthetics but in addition to that the service was impeccable. Out of all the companies on the market we found their service to be the friendliest and most helpful.
We were on a very tight deadline during major refurbishment of our Victorian castle when we realised that we were missing a radiator.

We called around, and Mike from Traditionals was the only person who understood our problem and agreed to deliver in record time.

Other companies did not even want to hear about it.

The radiator arrived and it allowed us to complete on time which otherwise would have turned into a very expensive delay.

This is why as we continue our refurbishment we will only deal with Traditionals in the future. Thank you very much for your excellent products and fantastic service”!

Dear Mike,

Here are some pictures of our radiators. As you can see they look fantastic, especially when fitted with the Helmsley nickel valves that you supplied. Thank you for your great service.

Kind Regards Dr Allison

Dear Traditionals / Cast Iron Radiators

Just a quick note to thank you for the outstanding level of service received from your company. I am truly delighted with the radiators that you have supplied, they look fantastic and will no doubt do so for several generations to come. I would like to extend a particular thank you for your after sales service. Having had an issue with one of the valves (an issue not related to you I hasten to add), the speed and helpfulness of your response was simply outstanding and far in excess of what one might expect in today’s impersonal electronic age, it was pardon the pun the kind of Traditional service one recalls from the “good old days”.

Well done to you and your team.

Kind Regards

Les May (Chairman)

Hello Mike

I bought these radiators from you about 18mths ago. I only just had the house painted hence the long wait. There are a few more to follow. They look great.

Thank you. Hope the photos are of use.

Dear Mike

I just wanted to thank you for my radiators and all your advice on colours and valves, we are so pleased with them. They haven’t yet been installed but the builders and everyone who has seen them has admired them.  Thank you for your help and for such stunning radiators, I cannot wait to see them fitted as they should go beautifully with the floors we have picked.
Thanks Lyn Hill

Hi Mike,
Please find attached photos of the radiator you supplied. As you can see it’s installed and runs as a heat leak on our first floor landing supplied by a solid fuel Rayburn in combination with a Gledhill thermal store. It was an essential part of making our system work efficiently and we were very grateful for your advice and efficient service. With the 3/4″ valves you supplied it allows the gravity fed flow to circulate perfectly well and prevents any excess heat build up. We were very pleased with the installation as the radiator works perfectly well & provided the solution we needed.

Best regards,
Matthew Odell

Hi Mike,

And here is my testimonial.
“I initially planned to buy reclaimed radiators, but in the end decided to go for reproduction radiators (for peace of mind, and made-to-measure heat requirements).  I shopped around extensively before deciding to buy from traditionals.  The radiators are stunning and the service and advice I was given was first class.  The delivery went exactly as planned, which was critical as I needed to organise a group of men to help lift the radiators into my flat.  I highly recommend Mike and his team at traditionals, 100%”.
Best, nic

Hi Mike and William,

re: new cast iron radiators at Mercaston with special paint effect

I wanted to let you know how delighted we are with the new radiators. They are stunning – lovely solid, heavy, proper radiators with a fantastic paint effect making them look like they’ve been in the house for decades. A perfect combination which has added so much warmth and character to our house. Thank you very much Mike from Traditionals (www.castironradiators.biz) for the great radiators and very efficient service and to William from Nashathome for the wonderful partnership with Traditionals which has produced the perfect paint effect for our house. I would highly recommend Traditionals and nashathome

Many thanks, Clare Schneck

Attached please find some photos – we are still in the renovation phase but you can see how lovely they look even if the flooring is not yet down!

Hi Mike,
It was a great pleasure working with you. Please see images of our radiators installed in our newly refurbished house. All of our friends and family comment on how fantastic they look.
I would recommend Traditionals to anyone.
Thank you
